I’m Opening a Stand Alone Martial Arts School!

As frequent readers will know, I’ve been teaching KENPO out of a fitness facility for the last eight years.

However, I have always thought about opening my very own stand alone martial arts school that exclusively teaches adults. My biggest concern was finding the right place and having enough people to help teach.

Well, in less than 40 days, that day dream will become a reality. I finally found the right place and have the people to make it work.

This all began when my wife stumbled onto the space not three blocks from our house. We had gotten a storage unit and one day she saw a sign for office space next door. She called me at work and we went down after hours to check it out. The rest, as they say, is history.

And, it should come as no surprise that I will be blogging about all of my experience and trying to document everything as I go. I want to share all of the experiences I encounter and help share what I learn for the benefit of the community.

I’ve been working on my business model and plan for years in preparation so this wasn’t a rush decision. Finding the place just came out of nowhere. I planned and prepared waiting for the day I found the right place. Finally that day came.

I purposefully started small, training students until they learned enough to become instructors. Now, we have enough people to open the doors on both sides of the mat and can begin helping more people than ever before. I think we’re well poised to make a big splash in the area.

So stay tuned as I play a little catch up on some blog posts to get you caught up to me receiving the keys.
