Marketing Martial Arts Turns 1 Year Old

It has already been a year since Marketing Martial Arts went live. My, how time flies.

Before I started this website, I wanted to create a place that would help martial arts school owners attract new students with ideas that you wont find on any other martial arts marketing site or publication.

With topics ranging from martial arts marketing associations to choosing a great domain name to the sometimes heated discussion about being a McDojo, it has been a fun ride so far.

As I was considering the topics to write about, I knew I had to do something I was passionate about to keep motivated. So naturally, I gravitated to writing about martial arts. But, I already had a blog for my martial arts school so I didn’t want to take away from that. So, next on the list was online marketing.

A website was born.

I decided to combine martial arts and online marketing and share what I know about the subject from more than 11 years in online marketing and website design. I was already answering marketing questions for my friends who also own a martial arts school so this made it easier.

It also helped me have more time in my day as I was answering a lot of the same questions.

I set out to create a website that attracted some of the best minds in the business to offer and share tips in an open and free format. Having comments from people like John Graden and Stephen Oliver, two of the biggest names in the business, makes me think this website is on the right track.

We also heard from many smaller martial arts school owners who are very experienced in their own right. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed thus far and look forward to receiving more comments from them and others in our industry in the future.

I would also like to thank all those people who sent in questions so that it made it easier to know what to write about.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the site the last year and learned at least one thing new. If not, you can always submit a question.

Happy birthday Marketing Martial Arts!
